I came across a new favorite artist, Eliza Doolittle, & I am smitten.  She obviously derives a lot of her inspiration from soulful music with a lounge-style vibe; she puts her own creative, upbeat spin on it though, & I can't get enough of her.  These are my two favorites:

I created an Eliza Doolittle station on Pandora & have been pretty happy with what turns up.

Lenka is on there too.  I'm sure you've heard The Show, (love this).  Have you seen Moneyball, yet?  There is the most adorable cover of this song in a touching scene between Kerris Dorsey & Brad Pitt.  I'm into Lenka's swanky Trouble is a Friend, & Everything At Once is pretty sweet & upbeat too; I could see myself adding it to a workout mix.

I also added Kimbra & a couple others to my Pandora station.

Music: Somebody That I Used To Know.

I don't share music nearly often enough, & I have been enthralled with this song for weeks now.  Dave is likely sick of it as it ends up on repeat quite often at our house.  It's called "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Goyte, featuring Kimbra. I am digging his style, & her voice is strong & gorgeous.  She has this whole lounge singer vibe going on, so check her site too.

It's been getting me through some hectic weeks.  When I can't belt it out over & over at home, I play it over & over in my mind at school or wherever.  Why are all of my favorite musicians not in the states? 

The lyrics are heavy, but it is beautiful.  I can't get enough of this unique beat.  The video is poetic & artistic as well.
