Climbers half her age struggled up routes she ascended cleanly. Young, 20-somethings tugged at tight clothing, uneasily eying those around them. She stood straight, full of confidence as well as compassion.
It's fluid, this experience and sense of self is ever shifting. It ebbs and flows depending on the day, our circumstances, and our commitment to it.
I notice people. Lately the overly opinionated, negative sort who nag those around them and gripe incessantly stand out. But I notice other women who glow, maintaining - even growing - their love for life. They are beautiful. They aren't afraid to shine. They are more interesting than their younger counterparts. They have something to say and say it clearly.
